Mexico – Pacific Coast
Many resorts on Mexico’s Pacific Coast serve as ideal launching points for sampling what this part of the country has to offer. In Puerto Vallarta, you’ll get a true “West Coast” experience: wonderful beaches, enchanting architecture, stunning sunsets, and a good taste of the vibrant Mexican culture. While there, check out the “Rhythms of the Night” tour, which includes a sunset cruise on a catamaran to a secluded beach for dinner, drinks, and an amazing show.
Over in Mazatlán, casual vibes and spectacular scenery await. The Malecón (boardwalk) – which is considered one of the longest in the world – divides cultural monuments along the coastline with the bars and restaurants of downtown. In Old Town Mazatlán, you can stroll around, stopping to taste the local cuisine, shop for jewelry and souvenirs, and to snap a photo of the breathtaking Cathedral.
Acapulco, once a playground for Hollywood’s elite, boasts more than just beaches. For the historians, there are many popular attractions rich in history, such as Fort of San Diego and the Diego Rivera Mural. You can also take a trip to the Las Brisas area for Capilla de la Paz (Chapel of Peace). It sits on the highest point in Acapulco, guarded by the huge Trouyet Cross that can be seen from almost anywhere in Acapulo. Foodies in this city won’t be disappointed either, especially with options that include seafood, tacos al pastor, and pazole verde. An added bonus: many restaurants have spectacular views of the Acapulco Bay.
